General Order 64-A
Section V
Detailed Construction Requirements For Supply Lines
(Class H, L and T Circuits)
52.9 Hardware
A. Protection Against Corrosion (see Rule 49.8)
B.
Separation From Metal Pins.
Metal crossarms braces shall not
contact metal pins on wood crossarms which carry more than one circuit; nor on
arms supporting single circuits if the lower extremity of the brace falls
within a 3 foot vertical distance of the conductor next below.
C.
Separation From Bond Wires and Ground
Wires.
Bond wires and ground wires shall
not contact metal pins, bolts, etc. on wood crossarms except where same are
intended to be connected, in which case a positive electrical contact shall be
made.
D.
Metal Back Braces
The use of metal back braces is
discouraged. Where used they shall be
considered as one of the arms of double arm construction.
E.
Grounding
Hardware of a circuit which of
itself is a common bond shall be grounded where it is possible to work on one
side of the circuit or circuits while the other is energized. The conductor used for grounding shall not
have a conductivity of not less than No. 6 A.W.G. copper wire.
