The following is a brief summary of the environmental monitoring activities that were completed between January 20, 1999 1:00 and 1:00 on January 21, 1999. Construction Highlights
01/20/99 (Wednesday)Segment 1 (Emidio Pump Station to Copco Road): Report for 20 January 1999: Rain fell throughout the day on Segment 1. Backfill crews worked at Copco Road, Flying J, and Emidio Pump Station tie in locations. Welding and x-ray continued on the surplus pipe strung along Highway 166, including the welding of test heads for hydro testing of this pipe. Coating crews worked on the tie in locations at Grapevine Station. Clean up crews working on Tejon Ranch left early due to rainy conditions.
Segment 5 (Lynwood to Long Beach): Report for 1-20-99. Although rain hampered efforts today and many crews were unable to complete the day work was conducted at the following areas. Crews working at the Edison site placed the bottom vault box into the bore pit. Meanwhile, electrical work was conducted in the control room at Tosco while shoring and excavation of the bore pit continued. Segment 4B (Lynwod to El Segundo): Fiber optic splicing was conducted at Lynwood station while crews dressed the station site and removed debris to allow rock to be placed at El Segundo.
