Construction Highlights
01/28/99 (Thursday)
Segment 1 (Emidio Pump Station to Copco Road): Report for 28 January 1999: General clean up occurred throughout the right of way today. Protective railing was placed along Peace Valley Road at the vent site on Tejon Summit. Backfill worked at Cuddy Creek Tributary and Grapevine Road. Work was done to replace a portion of the Tejon Ranch water line at the I-5/Tejon bore site. Erosion matting was done along B Road. Welders continued to cut up the pipe strung along Highway 166. Minor work occurred at Emidio and Grapevine Pump Stations.
Segment 5 (Lynwood to Long Beach): Report for 1-28-99. Crews drilled then placed rebar into the top of the vault box at the Edison bore pit near EMP 113.5. In addition, dry soil was imported to the site in order to achieve adequate compaction at the bore pit. Meanwhile, potholing activities took place near the future receiving pit for the Huntway bore. Similarly, crews potholed for several lines along the rail road tracks near the southern fence of Tosco. Bore crews lowered the sled and a section of pipe sleeve into the bore pit while crews graded and completed electrical work within the Tosco refinery.
