The following is a brief summary of the environmental monitoring activities that were completed between February 01, 1999 1:00 and 1:00 on February 2, 1999. This summary is based on reports directly received from the field and has not been edited. If you have any questions please contact (818) 597-3407. Please note the item number and the correction that should be made. This report is intended to serve as a communication document and as an instrument for quality control.

Segment 1 (Emidio Pump Station to Copco Road): Report for 1 February 1999: Clean up activities occurred across Segment 1 today. Backfill and grading crews worked at the Warbler Skip. Spoil and large rock were trucked off from lower Grapevine Road. Surplus pipe was hauled off of Highway 166 for storage. Other crews worked in anticipation of the line fill to begin shortly.

Segment 5 (Long Beach to Lynwood): Report for 2-1-99. Painting crews are working to coat the roof eaves at Lynwood station. Further, crews were on site while Nitrogen was pumped into the line from the Tosco refinery. Meanwhile, crews completed the forms for the vault top and bottom supports at the Edison tie-in near EMP 113.5. In addition, due to heavy rain over the weekend, backfilling of the receiving pit was delayed to allow the soil to dry for proper compaction. Crews working within Tosco completed potholing and began the bore while final electrical work was continued near the power house. Further, gravel was spread around the station site while Nitrogen was pumped into the line in preparation for line fill. Segment 4B (Lynwood to El Segundo): Crews began installing the station lighting while painting and coating of the skid continued at the El Segundo Station.
