Construction Highlights
02/02/99 (Tuesday)Segment 1 (Emidio Pump Station to Copco Road): Report for 2 February 1999: Clean up of the right of way continued on Segment 1 today. This include the removal of spoil and rock from the end of Grapevine Road, as well as the trucking off of the surplus pipe strung along Highway 166. Restoration efforts began along Copco Road near the California Aqueduct.
Segment 5 (Lynwood to Long Beach): Report for 2-2-99. Crews began the final walk through of the Tosco station prior to line fill and checked electrical on the static mixer. The trench was backfilled after potholing was completed along the southern fence line with Tosco. Meanwhile, crews poured concrete around the vault and backfilled the receiving bore pit at the Edsison site. Segment 4B (Lynwood to El Segundo): Painting of the pipes and caulking between the brick walls continued at Lynwood station while crews set up pumps and holding tanks for the line fill at the El Segundo refinery.
