Construction Highlights
02/08/99 (Monday)Segment 5 (Lynwood to Long Beach): Report for 2-8-99. Crews completed 140' of trench, set 80' of pipe in the ditch and one weld at the southern end of the Huntway section. In addition, crews completed the bore from the Wilmington refinery to Lomita St then removed the sled and machine from the right of way. Meanwhile, crews cored several lifting holes into the vault top at the Edison tie-in site near EMP 113.5. At Lynwood station crews completed removal of the scaffolding while coating crews prepared to spray an anti-graffiti coat on the exterior walls.
