Construction Highlights
02/09/99 (Tuesday)Segment 5 (Lynwood to Long Beach): Report for 2-9-99. Crews began excavation of the receiving bore pit at Lomita after crews pushed the final pipe section through the bore sleeve. However, due to rain crews halted digging and began shoring a weak section of the ditch at the southern end of the Huntway line. Meanwhile, minor electrical and valve packing work occurred within the Wilmington refinery. Crews at the Edision site south of the 91 Frwy welded lifting eyes onto the vault top while coating of above ground pipe continued at Lynwood station. In addition, crews installed a door to the control room area and placed concrete filled barriers near the station drive way.
