The following is a brief summary of the environmental monitoring activities that were completed between February 17, 1999 1:00 and 1:00 on February 18, 1999. Construction Highlights

02/17/99 (Wednesday)

Segment 5 (Lynwood to Long Beach): Report for 2-17-99. Work progressed with the tie-in from the Wilmington refinery to the Huntway bore pit. Crews welded, x-rayed and wrapped pipe anticipating completion of welding on Thursday. In addition, crews installed two fire hydrants and continued paint work within the Wilmington refinery. Meanwhile, trenching crews completed 60' of ditch along the Huntway section while pipe was coated and electricians progressed with laying fiber optic conduit. Further, 80' of pipe was shaded along the southern section. Crews working at the Edison site, poured concrete for the vault end caps and began work in preparation of setting the vault box top.
