Construction Highlights

03/04/99 (Thursday)

Segment 5 (Lynwood to Long Beach): Report for 3-4-99. Crews conducted a general clean up of the right of way removing debris and excess spoils from the right of way along the southern extreme of the Huntway connection. Further, after welding, x-ray and coating crews completed work on a section of pipe, a side boom moved then lowered the 150' section into the ditch. Shortly there after, welders completed the weld in preparation for x-ray and coating. In addition, backfill and duct work progressed through out the day with crews nearing the half way point along the Huntway connection. Finally, water trucks kept dust to a minimum while traffic control crews effectively managed the high volume of truck traffic occurring along the right of way.
