Construction Highlights
11/22/98(Sunday)
Segment 1 Report for 11/22/98: Welders worked on tie-in of a segment of pipe at EMP 25.16. A pig receiver was delivered to EMP 21.76 where hydrostatic testing will take place next week. Trenching and shoring occurred to 21.53. On Tejon Bench, pipe was placed and tied-in at 18.12, shading occurred from 17.62 to 17.40. Welders worked from 16.65 to 16.63. On Grapevine Rd., welding continued at 15.98, a track hoe worked on breaking up a boulder encountered in the trench at 15.83. At Grapevine pump station, electrical work and pipe fitting continued. No work took place at the California Aqueduct bore. Welding of pipe occurred at the Stream Crossing #4 bore (9.03). Cable was pulled from 4.55 to 3.80. Some electrical work took place on the substation at Emidio Pump Station.
Segment 5 (Lynwood to Long Beach) Report for 22 November 1998: Excess drilling mud was hauled off by vacuum trucks. Pipe is ready to pull; crews are waiting for new drill stock pipe. Bore at Wilmington Station continues without problem.
