The following is a brief summary of the environmental monitoring activities that were completed on December 17, 1998. Construction Highlights

12/17/98 (Thursday)

Segment 1 report for 12/17/98: At Emidio Pump Station, testing of the equipment continued. Backfill was in progress at the Stream Crossing #4 bore (EMP 9.03) and the Tecuya Creek/I-5 bore (EMP 9.83). Pipe was being pushed through the California Aqueduct bore (EMP 12.28). Casing is being installed in both the Stream Crossing #9 bore (EMP 15.35) and the Tejon Bench/I-5 bore (16.49). On Grapevine Rd. conduit has been placed to EMP 15.78. Shading and compaction occurred to EMP 15.69. At Grapevine Pump Station, PG&E erected the power pole and lines were being installed to the substation. On Tejon Bench shading continued from EMP 16.67 to 16.59. Excavation continued to 18.00. On Lebec Rd. excavation continued (working south) to EMP 21.66. Excavation working north continued to EMP 21.70. Tie-in of pipe occurred between the Cuddy Creek Tributary bore and the Cuddy Creek directional drill from EMP 25.46 to 25.40.
