Construction Highlights
Spread 1
City of Long Beach
Spread 1 work in the City of Long Beach has been completed.
City of Paramount
No Spread 1 work occurred in the City of Paramount during the shift.
City of Bellflower
The crew on the west side of the San Gabriel River backfilled around the pipe and left the upper part of the trench open for the electrical conduit. The applicant was informed that Palo Verde Avenue needs to be cleaned by the end of the shift.
City of Cerritos
The crew at the San Gabriel River cleaned up the right-of-way and cleaned out the Baker tank. The crew backfilled and compacted the trench, leaving the top half open for the electrical conduit. A small crew prepared to pour the slab for the valve on the east side of the river.
City of Artesia
No work occurred in the City of Artesia during the shift.
City of Norwalk
No work occurred in the City of Norwalk during the shift.
Spread 2
Los Angeles County
The crew at the Compton Creek Bridge poured both zero-sack and two-sack slurry on the south side of the bridge during the shift. The pipe over the bridge received a second coat of paint. The backfilling crew continued pouring the concrete road surface on Santa Fe Avenue south of Compton Creek.
City of Long Beach
The crew at the Los Angeles River continued working on backfilling over the section of pipe between the 710 Freeway bore and the Los Angeles River bore and the bore pit. A small crew worked in DeForest Park backfilling the trench with native material. The crew removed the large rocks from the spoil.
City of Paramount
No work occurred in the City of Paramount during the shift.
Watson Station
City of Carson
The crew at the Watson Station worked on the faulty welds on the prover. The section of 16-inch pipe at the start of Spread 2 was not welded during the shift.
Norwalk Station
City of Norwalk
The welding crew continued to weld on the test-heads for the hydrostatic test at the Norwalk Station.
