XV. RECREATION

1. The proposed project would primarily involve underground line construction within existing streets and on PG&E and SCVWD property, horizontal drilling beneath Heney Creek, the Union Pacific Railroad tracks, and I-280, and construction of overhead lines and replacement of conductors on existing poles and towers. The project would not have an impact on or increase the demand for neighborhood or regional parks or recreational facilities.

2. Horses currently are boarded in facilities located on PG&E property between the lower and upper grounds of the Monta Vista substation. Some of the horse boarding facilities would be displaced during project construction. Under the current lease agreement, the leaseholder would be given at least 90 days notice prior to the start of construction. The displaced facilities could be reestablished when construction is completed, assuming the existing lease is still in effect. Therefore, the impacts of the proposed project on use of the horse boarding facilities would be temporary and less than significant.
