Introduction

Welcome to the California Public Utilities Commission's (CPUC) website for San Diego Gas & Electric Company's (SDG&E) Tie-Line (TL) 686 Wood to Steel Pole Replacement Project (project). SDG&E is proposing to fire-harden 14.6 miles of the existing TL 686 power line within the Warner Springs and Grapevine Canyon areas of San Diego County in order to enhance the safety and reliability of the existing electric system. The project would involve replacing existing wood poles with new steel poles and replacing the electrical conductor on portions of the TL 686 power line within a High Fire Threat District. More information is available about the project in the Project Fact Sheet.

The CPUC will be the lead agency responsible for reviewing the project pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This website provides access to public documents and information relevant to the CPUC's environmental review and decision-making process for the project. For additional information on the CPUC proceeding for this project, contact the Public Advisor's Office.
