Requirements for Communication Systems
40.1 Construction Methods
Communication systems for public use constructed under these rules
may consist of, but shall not be limited to, directly buried cables and conductors,
cables and conductors installed in conduit, manholes and handholes, tunnels,
or a combination of these elements. Open trenching, tunneling, boring, jacking
and plowing, either singly or in combination, are among the recognized methods
of installation of communication systems. Terminating and access points for
lines and services may be above or below grade.
