46       Vertical Strength Requirements
 
In computing vertical strength requirements the loads upon poles, towers, foundations, crossarms, pins, insulators and conductor fastenings shall be their own weight plus the superimposed weight which they support, including that wires and cables under the loading conditions of Rule 43 plus that which may be added by difference in elevation of supports.  The resultant of vertical and transverse loading on conductors shall be used in determining the allowable and working tensions or sags in accordance with Rule 43.
 
In addition to the above a vertical load of 200 pounds at the outer pin position shall be included in computing the vertical loads on all crossarms.
 
All members of structures shall be constructed to withstand vertical loads as specified above with safety factors at least equal to those specified in Rule 44.
