RE: Variance Request #47 - Reduce the refueling distance requirements stipulated by Mitigation Measure B-AQ-1 along Peace Valley Road, Segment 1, at one additional location: approximately 300 feet north of the entrance to Hungry Valley State Park Recreational Vehicle Area at Station No. 1438+61(see Variance Request approvals #32 and #43).

Dear Mr. Shauers:

We have reviewed the above-referenced variance request and deny your request, based on the following factor:

• The proposed location is directly adjacent to Los Padres National Forest lands leased by the Hungry Valley State Park Recreational Vehicle Area. For liability reasons, the District Superintendent of the State Park has requested that the proposed refueling location be denied.
