RE: Variance Request #94 - Modify the
construction start time from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. during the
"High Fire Danger Season" on rural lands between
Valencia Boulevard and McBean Parkway, Los Angeles County
(Segment 2B).
Dear Mr. Shauers:
The CPUC and ANF have reviewed the
above-referenced request and approve your request, based on the
following factors:
- In accordance with Mitigation Measure N-1,
pipeline construction activities shall occur between 7:00
a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday (or for a
shorter period if stipulated by applicable noise
ordinance).
- Los Angeles County noise ordinances allow
construction activities outside of the 7:00 a.m. to 7:00
p.m. range in areas more than 500 feet from residential
areas. The subject area is undeveloped and has no
residences with the 500 foot zone. Los Angeles County
Fire Department Inspector Kerry Brisson has approved the
modified construction start time and has requested that
the earlier start time be implemented immediately.
- The following measures shall be
implemented:
- All applicable mitigation measures for
the project shall be implemented at the subject location.
- Prior to the implementation of the 5:00
a.m. construction start time, written land owner approval
shall be provided to the CPUC Environmental Monitor.
- Implementation of this variance in
accordance with the provisions noted above shall be verified
on a random basis by a CPUC/ANF Environmental Monitor.
Sincerely,
- Andrew Barnsdale
- Project Manager
