Location of Proposed Cable Route

The proposed fiber optic cable network is intended to serve the California metropolitan areas of the San Francisco Bay Area and the Los Angeles Basin.  In the San Francisco Bay Area, the network would encircle southern San Francisco Bay from the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge in the north to San Jose in the south; it would also include a segment into Marin County.  This network would pass through the following six counties:  San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, and Marin.  The jurisdictions through which the Bay Area network would pass are listed in Table 4-1.

In the Los Angeles area, the network would pass through Los Angeles and Orange counties.  It would extend from Santa Monica, Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena in the north to Costa Mesa, Irvine, and Fashion Island in the south.  The jurisdictions through which the Los Angeles network would pass are listed in Table 4-5.
