Location Of Poles Or Towers.
Poles or
towers supporting crossing spans shall be located outside the railroad company’s
right of way wherever practicable; shall be located as far as practicable from
inflammable material or structures; shall be as nearly as practicable in line
with the adjoining span on each side; the crossing span and the next adjoining
spans shall be kept free from trees which might fall into the line; the
crossing span shall be made as short as is reasonably practicable. In no case shall the length of the crossing
span be greater than the normal span of line, and the length of the next
adjoining span shall be not greater than one and one-half times the normal span
except where spans of extraordinary length are made necessary by extraordinary
conditions of topography.
In all
cases the clearances from tracks to poles shall conform to Rules 61(a) and 91(a).
